Celestial Navigations
Storytelling with the Star, the Moon and the Sun
Sunday 2 August 2026, 5-6.15pm London, £30
The Star, the Moon and the Sun are three of the most powerful cards of the Major Arcana. They summon inspiration and hope, invite curiosity and imagination, and bring joy and positive energy to our writing.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how these celestial forces can shape narrative tone, deepen perspective, and guide the movement of a story – from the Star’s promise, through the Moon’s mystery, to the Sun’s clarity and momentum.
We’ll work with guided tarot prompts, short generative exercises, and reflective discussion. After the class you’ll receive a workbook based on our activities, also including further writing experiments and resources to explore at your own pace.
This stand‑alone class is suitable for all levels of tarot and writing experience.
*********
The tarot is a great gift for writers: an invitation to the imagination, a tool for creative focus, a prompt for accessing our unconscious drives.
These interactive Tarot For Writers workshops explore the potential of the tarot in creative writing as well as writing for personal growth. Different classes survey the archetypes of the Major Arcana, investigate the four elements, court cards and number cards of the Minor Arcana, and unlock the symbols and associations of individual cards.
We do in-class writing experiments, and you’ll take away ideas to develop in your personal practice, whether you’re generating new pieces or revising work-in-progress. We also discuss resources on tarot and investigate different styles of tarot decks and divination cards – feel free to bring your own cards to class to share with us too. After the class you’ll be sent a handy reference on tarot for writers as well as other resources to explore at your own pace.
Each class is stand-alone and runs live on Zoom – recordings are not available at this time. Beginners as well as experienced practitioners in tarot and all forms of writing are welcome. You can read more about my approach in my blog post Tarot and Writing.
