Knight Moves
Writing With the Knights in Tarot
A Zoom Workshop, Sunday 6th December 2026, 5pm-6.15pm UK Time, £30
The Knights bring main-character energy to the Tarot. They are the seekers, adventurers and champions who are driven forward by desire, ambition, and a sense of purpose. They’re also those headstrong figures whose passions, convictions, and obsessions invite tension, trouble, and dramatic turns of fate.
Through discussion and writing experiments, we’ll invite the four Knights to bring the elemental drives of their suits into our stories. The questing spirit, the emotional currents, the firm refusals, the fierce determination: how do the Knights define characters and propel narratives forward?
We’ll identify Knights in classic and contemporary literature, and look at Knights across different decks to see what they offer us.
And thinking about the Knights as personal writing coaches, we’ll also locate the motivation, commitment, and perseverance they bring to the writing life.
Whether you’re interested in storytelling, Tarot, or your own creative practice, the Knights offer plenty of rich material to work with.
About Tarot For Writers workshops
The tarot is a great gift for writers: an invitation to the imagination, a tool for creative focus, a prompt for accessing our unconscious drives.
This series of interactive Tarot For Writers workshops explores the potential of the tarot in creative writing as well as writing for personal growth. Each workshop includes in-class writing experiments, and offers plenty of ideas to develop in your personal practice, whether you’re generating new pieces or revising work-in-progress. After the class you’ll be sent resources to explore at your own pace, including a handy reference on tarot for writers.
Each class is stand-alone and runs live on Zoom. Recordings are not available at this time. Beginners as well as experienced practitioners in tarot and all forms of writing are welcome. You can read more about my approach in my blog post Tarot and Writing.
